Why Londrina

A medical hub in northern Paraná

Londrina is the second-largest city in the state of Paraná and the medical hub of the north of the state, with a hospital network that serves as a reference for the region.

It is home to Hospital Evangélico de Londrina, the first institution in Brazil to operate the ExcelsiusGPS® (Medicina S/A, May 2026), where Dr. Victor is a residency preceptor and coordinates the regional outpatient clinic for neurotrauma, neurovascular disease, spine and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics.

Robotic surgery

Image-based planning, rigid arm, real-time navigation

The ExcelsiusGPS® is a robotic navigation platform developed by Globus Medical for spine surgery. Before surgery, the patient's imaging exams are imported into the platform and a plan is drawn up defining the position and size of each implant. During the procedure, a rigid robotic arm aligns with the planned trajectory and holds it, while the surgeon guides the placement of the screws with real-time visual tracking.

The proposal of the technology is to increase the precision of implant positioning and make less invasive approaches possible in selected cases. The indication remains individual.

Travel logistics

What the team advises before you travel

After the online consultation, the team sends in writing what needs to be organized: the medical documentation to bring, the estimated length of stay in Londrina, the presence of a companion and how communication with your home physician will work.

Nothing is promised before the in-person evaluation: the surgical indication depends on the physical examination and the team's review of the case.

  • Medical documentation: exams, reports and a list of current medications
  • Estimated length of stay informed during the online consultation
  • Companion and communication with your home physician
